Everyone has great ideas. However, most do not know where to go or do. With AngelsGate.com, you can get help from the masses. Whether you are looking for money, people to join your team, or simply exchanging pointers and encouragement, AngelsGate.com is the online portal for entrepreneurs.

AngelsGate.com uses an all-or-nothing funding system where projects must meet the funding target or no money changes hands.
Who can raise funds on AngelsGate.com?
Anyone can make use of Angel's Gate Online to fund his or her project or business. It doesn't matter how big or small your project is.

The only criterion is that you have to give something back to your supporters who fund your project or business. These can be in the form of a product or a service offered by the entrepreneurs on AngelsGate.com.
Why do people support projects?
There are many reasons why people back or support a project.

1. Products & Services. These are the services and products an entrepreneur provides in exchange for people who back the projects and ideas through funding.

For instance, you might want to give people who pledge $10 a copy of your software, while people who pledge $50 might get a bundle of 10 copies of your software. These products and services should be well thought out, and provide a fair exchange to your backers.

2. Avenue for Talents. Angel's Gate Online also provides an avenue for you to make use of skills and talents to support the projects. For instance, if you are a designer looking to showcase your skills, why not join a project? Entrepreneurs, why not use Angel's Gate Online to crowd-source your A-team. Money is not the only key to a successful venture.

3. Spirit of Entrepreneurship. There are many people out there with strong desires and interests to pursue something they love and believe in. By showing your support, you are helping to provide belief and drive for the entrepreneurs to pursue their dreams. The future of the world's economy is dependent on entrepreneurs. Go forth, explore Angel's Gate Online and see if you can spot the next big idea!

There should be different tiers of products and services to attract different supporters. Of course, the higher the amount of funding you are seeking, the more enticing your products or services should be. Do state clearly the kinds of product or service you are providing when making your submission.
I only need to raise a small amount of funding. Is AngelsGate.com for me?
Projects on AngelsGate.com can raise as little as $100 through our crowd-funding system. Do not be afraid to simply post your project on Angel's Gate. There is no project too small or too big. Even if you are not looking for funds, AngelsGate.com is still a great way to get your ideas or business out there for our wide audience to take notice!
All-or-nothing funding?
Every AngelsGate.com project must achieve their target funding amounts before its time expires or no money changes hands.

We have our reasons for doing so.

1. There is less risk for everyone. If you need $1,000, it's difficult to complete it when you only manage to raise $500. For backers, it helps ensure entrepreneurs have the necessary means to follow through with their projects.

2. People can test their ideas without risk. If you don't receive the support you want, you're not compelled to complete your project. This can be a channel to help validate your ideas.

3. Having an all-or-nothing system helps motivate people. If people want to see a project come to life, they will help spread the message and garner support.
Does AngelsGate.com take a percentage in ownership or intellectual property of projects on the website?
All entrepreneurs own and keep 100% of their work, including intellectual property rights.
What fees does AngelsGate.com charge?
If a project is successfully funded, a 7% fee to the funds raised will be charged. If funding isn't successful, there are no charges at all.
Does PayPal charge any fees?

It shouldn't take more than a day or two for a member of our team to get back to you with the status of your submission. If you've got a project that meets our guidelines, you're good to go.
Project Guidelines for Crowd-Funding
AngelsGate.com is a platform focused on fostering entrepreneurship. The guidelines below articulate our mission and focus. Please note that any project that violates these guidelines will be rejected or removed. Please contact us if you have any questions.

AngelsGate.com's crowd-funding system is for the funding of projects and business ideas that have clearly defined goals and expectations.

AngelsGate.com does not allow charity or cause funding. Examples of prohibited use include raising money for the Red Cross, funding an awareness campaign, funding a scholarship, or donating a portion of funds raised to a charity or cause.

No "fund my life" projects. Examples include projects to go on vacation, or buy a new playstation.

No financial incentives. The AngelsGate.com crowd-funding system is based on the offering of a product or service – e.g. copies of the work, limited editions. Offering financial incentives, such as ownership, financial returns (for example, a share of profits), or repayment (loans) is prohibited. Projects or businesses looking to offer such financial incentives are not eligible for the crowd-funding system. However, they can still utilize the Angel's Gate
What if I do not want to use the crowd-funding system?
Entrepreneurs are not required to use the crowd-funding system. If your project or business idea does not require crowd-funding, simply select "raise capital" option when starting your project. You can then choose if you want your project to be viewable by the public, or just the network of investors on Angel's Gate.

Are funding goals and deadlines required?
Funding goals and deadlines are required for projects looking to utilize the crowd-funding system. Every project or business idea that wants to make use of the crowd-funding system has to have a funding goal (a dollar amount) set by the project creator. All projects have a deadline of 4 months from the point when the project is created. When the deadline is reached, there is either of two results:

1. Funding is successful: If a project or business idea has met or surpassed its funding goal, all backers' credit cards are instantly charged and funds go directly to the project creator. Project creators are then responsible for completing the project and delivering products and services as promised on their project and idea pages.

2. Funding is unsuccessful: If a project did NOT meet its funding goal, all pledges are canceled and no money changes hands.
Are products and services required?
Products and services are required for projects looking to utilize the crowd-funding system. See the Products & Services section below for more
Can I change my funding goal?
No. Once a project or idea starts, the funding goal cannot be changed.
Can I change my deadline?
No. Once a project or idea starts, the end date cannot be changed.
Can a project or idea be edited after starting?
Yes, you can edit the following content after starting:
• Project description
• Video and image
• Products & Services (you may add new ones)
• Post project updates

The only things that cannot be edited after starting are:
• Funding goal
• Project deadline
• Products and Services that have already been selected by a backer
Can projects or ideas be edited after funding is completed?
No. Every project is preserved as it is once it reaches the deadline. Creators are encouraged to use Project Updates and Project FAQs to add new information to the project's development.
Can I run more than one project at once?
There is no limit to how many projects or business idea someone can have simultaneously as long as each project meets our guidelines. However we generally discourage running more than one project at a time, as this can distract backers and split support. It's also vital for a project to be a sincere effort. More than one live project will likely dilute your attention and energy.
Can I split up funding for the same project into several projects for each stage?
If each stage of the project is distinct and there is ample time between them, raising funds in stages is doable. However, this is not something that we recommend. There are potential issues with backer fatigue (asking the same audience multiple times for support), and the fulfillment of products and services promised — you are responsible for fulfilling the products and services offered for each project, so setting up a series of projects whose products or services can only be fulfilled upon completion of the final one may be problematic. If you've thought through these issues and feel confident in your plan, go for it. But definitely consider these questions.
Can I submit more than one project or idea for review?
Yes. However, do not that we will need some time to review your proposals, which should take 1-3 days.
Can a project be deleted?
Projects cannot be deleted once it has been approved and launched to the public. Projects remain accessible on AngelsGate.com, even if funding fails or funding is canceled. This allows for greater transparency.
Can funding be canceled?
Yes. A project creator has the option to cancel funding. When funding is cancelled, all pledges are immediately voided. Project creators and backers can still continue to post on the project. To cancel a project, email contact@angelsgate.com with details of your request.
Can I retry my project if funding is unsuccessful?
Yes. You can always try again with a new goal. You'll need to set your project up from scratch, but it can be essentially identical if you choose.
How do I know someone won't steal my idea?
Being open and sharing ideas is an essential part of Angel's Gate. The platform is collaborative by nature, and is a powerful community-building tool for our creators. If you are unwilling to share information about your project with potential backers then Angel's Gate probably isn't the platform for your project.

Products & Services

Are projects required to offer products or services?
Yes. A series of creative and engaging product or service offering for backers is essential. These are typically things produced by the project itself. They can be as simple as an app download for $5 or as elaborate as a exotic horseback ride. It's up to the project creator to create, price, and fulfill their product or service offerings.
Who creates the products and services for each project?
Project creators create their own product and service offerings, including pricing and quantities. It's entirely up to them.
What can be offered as a product or service?
Products and services are typically items produced by the project itself — a copy of the CD, a print from the show, a limited edition of the comic; or a service offered by the entrepreneur — a software service, or other services. Most projects also offer creative experiences: a visit to the set, naming a character after a backer, a personal phone call. Anything that brings backers into the creative process is a great approach.

There are some limitations on what can be offered as a product or service. Investment and loan solicitations are forbidden, as are lotteries, raffles, sweepstakes, and coupons/discounts on future goods. See below for more.
What items are prohibited as a product or service?
Prohibited items include:
• Financial incentives, returns, and repayment
• Raffles, lotteries, and sweepstakes
• Coupons, discounts, and gift certificates
• Alcohol, tobacco, and drugs
• Pornography
For a full list of prohibited items and activities, please review PayPal's Acceptable Use Policy.
Is there a minimum or maximum for how much a product or services can cost?
Products or services can be priced anywhere from $1 to $10,000.
Is there a way to limit the quantity of a product or service offering?
Yes. Products or services can be limited to a certain available number.
How can I get my backers' information (mailing address, T-shirt size, etc.) to fulfill products or services offered?
Once your project is successfully funded, you can create surveys to request any info you need to deliver your product or service, such as their mailing address or other details, through posting 'Updates' to your profiles.

Don't worry about gathering your backers' info before then! If backers are curious, please let them know that you'll follow up when you're ready to deliver their product or service.
What if the products or services cannot be delivered after funding?
The entrepreneur is liable for the delivery of products and services. If an entrepreneur cannot deliver the promised products and services, he/she is encouraged to inform the relevant pledgers to refund the funding amount. Additionally, if more than 30% of pledgers file a dispute with Angel's Gate against a particular entrepreneur, Angel's Gate will offer to appoint an Arbiter to resolve the dispute. The cost of the appointment of the Arbiter will be bourne by the entrepreneur and the pledgers.

Accountability

What information should I share on my project page?
After visiting your project page backers should have a clear sense of:
• What it is you are trying to do
• How you will do it
• How the funds will be used
• Your qualifications to complete this project
• The identities of the people on your team (if you have one)
• How far along your project is

The more information you share, the more you will earn your backers' trust.
What is my responsibility for answering questions from backers and non-backers?
People will reach out during the course of the project with questions about your project. These may range from queries on delivery dates to specific technical questions. These inquiries should be answered promptly and, in cases where other backers are asking the same information, publicly with a Project Update and through your Project FAQ (under your project description). Transparency is vital on Angel's Gate.
What can be offered as a product or service?
If you are unable to fulfill the promises made to backers, cannot complete the project as advertised, or decide to abandon the project for any reason, you are expected to cancel funding. A failure to do so could result in damage to your reputation or even legal action on behalf of your backers.
